Entry Level Bank Jobs As Window Tellers
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t care about money. Of course some people value it more than others, some waste it and others never seem to have enough, but most everyone likes money. As a matter of fact, the thought of spending a lot of time around money is a good one, really. If you are looking for a job in banking this is just what you’ll do.
If you have gone to school and studied accounting or finance or have some other degree applicable to banking, once you finish your program you are on the lookout for good entry level bank jobs. These are usually in the area of working with customers, especially as a window bank teller.
Helping customers resolve problems and make transactions in their bank accounts is a good way to start your career. You will have the opportunity to put into practice some of what you have learned at school and will learn more about dealing with money. And actually handling and dealing with money every day sounds like a dream job to me!
From a position as a teller you will get some of the experience you will need if you want to work up to being in the loan department doing either loan underwriting or loan processing.
Entry level bank jobs should not be too difficult to find. If you have the right education, you will find opportunities online that you can take advantage of. If you have just graduated from your program you will find that there are many sites dedicated specifically to helping recent graduates to find entry level positions in all fields including banking and finance.
Visiting job websites can be a little overwhelming. Be relaxed and don’t stress about finding a job within a strict time limit. Simply put your shoulder to the wheel and search diligently for positions available in your area. Keep in mind that just because you couldn’t find any positions open last week doesn’t mean there won’t be any this week! Banks, like any other institution go through regular hiring periods.
The most important thing for any graduate is to be consistent in your search. Don’t just expect a job to fall into your lap, but search online, ask around and find creative ways to learn what your options are. Also, don’t be afraid to be persistent once you have the attention of a bank. Don’t become a nuisance, but make sure they know you are really interested and get the sense that you are the one for them.
The chance to be around money day in and day out is something we all wish we had. Of course you won’t be spending that money, but you will be earning money to support yourself and will have more experience with dealing with it than most other people. And your entry level bank job will put you on the path to a position that will make you more money, as you work with other people’s money.
